Life is full of many ups and downs, twist and turns, and so many of us miss the blessing of just making a difference in the lives of others. In this time of history, we can all learn from the history making efforts of our biblical characters like David!
For several years I have held the understanding that you can do nothing without courage! This reality has been seen so many times, in my personal life, that I have lost count! Courage is a necessary character trait and is the counter to having no courage or in other words (discouragement). By the way, discouragement is the greatest weapon that Satan has in his arsenal of tricks!
I recall a story in the scriptures that directly illustrates the issue of heroes that have courage! In 1 samuel 30:6, David’s men spoke of stoning him, because upon their return to their city in Ziglag, they discovered that all the women and children were missing and their entire city was destroyed! So in the last portion of the verse, you find that “David encouraged himself in the Lord his God“. This really inspired me to recognize that sometimes in life, heroes and everyday people, find themselves in a position that does not provide any outside encouragement whatsoever! This situation happens to all of us and you and I, like David, must Encourage Ourselves In the Lord! This is what Heroes would do and this is what we all should do on a daily basis.
Take courage today and remember that if it were not for the Grace of God, which is as real as the atmosphere that we breath, you and I would not even be here alive to discuss having the Courage of Heroes!

It is 2:09 am in the morning, Saturday, January 2, 2010. It’s a new year, a new beginning, and a new fresh start. I was born on a Saturday, converted to Christ on a Saturday, anointed with a true burden for souls on a Saturday, received my life work and calling to encourage others on a Saturday. I worship every week on a Saturday, I was baptized into the watery grave into newness of life on a Saturday and today, I have received a boat load of inspiration to give my best efforts for my Heavenly Father and for my neighbor (any person that I come in contact with) on this day, Saturday! I feel great and I will tell you why!!!
The past few years of my life has been extremely tough. I have received countless reasons to quit, give up, be discouraged in just about every area of life! Financially, physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc. I have been researching for over 21 years in the science of encouragement. I have very diligently sought out the cause of why people feel they can’t make it, get tired or want to quit! I have been faced with so many obstacles in my life that to be alive is the greatest gift to me on a daily basis! I am so grateful! This morning, I decided to type in the word encouragement in the search engine! As I was searching around, I came across a video that caught my attention, so I decided to watch it. Before the video could end I not only could identify with the struggle of discouragement that we all face from time to time, but I was in tears and I could not stop crying. It was truly a moment of encouragement for me and it has inspired me to Press On and Press Through It, with more courage and faith by the Grace of God! I feel better today and I pray that you will too! I want to share this video with you and say my friend, Be Encouraged Today!!!

*Hebrews 3:13; “But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” (KJV). In the amplified version it says: But instead warn (admonish, urge, and encourage) one another every day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [by the fraudulence, the stratagem, the trickery which the delusive glamor of his sin may play on him].

On April 17, 2009 at 7:00pm, Friday evening, the stage was set and the time had come! As I approached the front to speak to the people a message of encouragement, joy filled my heart with the power of the gospel message! The setting was great and the atmosphere wonderful, the songs that filled the building from the youth and young at heart, blessed my soul. My presentation was entitled: “Satan’s 24hr. Prison System of Discouragement“. I began by defining the word Yoke! It is something that is oppressive and burdensome! I stated that many of us are held back in life, due to the Yoke or Stronghold that prevents us from advancing forward in our life in some area! Then, I covered three prison bars of discouragement. The three bars that I identified were Debt, Disease and Disservice!
As I observed the audience, it was clear to me that the people really did identify, appreciate and agree that these prison bars of discouragement were keeping many people from abundant living spiritually and practically! I asked the people to write down a very important verse of scripture to take home to read, meditate and internalize all week! I will give that same scripture to you and ask you to do the same! The scripture is: Isaiah 58:6,7 (click here).
In conclusion, I made it clear that you can not fight debt, disease or disservice without a very important ingredient! What is needed is a very important and vital characteristic in your life. After 20 years of research in the Science of Encouragement, I know that this vital component in your life is the key to many personal, social and community victories in your life! What is needed is: Courage! You see, in the book ministry of healing, I discovered this concept! I read that we can do nothing without Courage! Put on the whole armor of God, and let unbelievers about you see that your life is not spoiled because you stand loyal and true to all the commandments of God. We need to dwell on the words of courage that Christ spoke to His disciples toward the close of His earthly ministry. . . . Though a cruel death was just before Him, Christ’s words to His followers were full of hope. He desired to bring all the comfort possible to their hearts. Let us be strong in Him.
